The Block Printing Project

This project’s main objective was to allow us to branch out into different forms of media without having to lose the digital component of our project. In this case, we learned about carving and block printing using special block material and ink. We had to make special cards from our print designs we used based on the non profit organization of our choice.

Moodboard created for inspiration. I went with the KC Pet Project because with connecting my love for animals and pets, it was easy for me to have a certain set of designs in mind.

Sketches that contains different designs that were considered before settling on the dog, the cat, and the pawprint.

The colors and font I used.

The cards overall turned out great in my favor, as they look authentic enough to be sold out as real greeting cards.

Here are the actual unedited prints I scanned, which all turned out great.

I used Photoshop to clean each of the card designs up as well as changing the colors to match the KC Pet Project’s color scheme.

Each card had a special message on the back which either contained fun little facts about dogs or cats, or about the organization in general.
